DIFFERENCE IN MODELS—Is the .32 Winchester Special the beat gun for wolves? Will the model ‘04, 26-inch barrel be alright? What powder and shells should I use for best results? Are the blued barrels better than the nickeled ones? What sights should I use? Is there much difference in models? I want a gun to use for hunting wolves on time prairie.
The .12 Special is s good gun fur the purpose, but I do not consider it the best. Personally, I would prefer a .30-30 to the .32 Special, and a .33 would suit me better still. If you want to do your hunting on horseback, choose the short barrel. An automatic action is very good for such hunting and if you like that action you will find the .23-25 Standard or the Remington of the same caliber very good arms. Use the factory cartridges with the soft-point bullets. There are no rifles nickel barrels. Use the sporting peep sight and a gold or ivory bead front sight. Before you decide on any particular arm study the catalogs thoroughly—you will find s world of difference in models.
