Different Calibers-What is the difference between the following cartridges-8 mm., .32-40, .35 Winchester and 9mm?
I presume you refer to the difference in caliber, or diameter of the bullet. The diameter of the bullet of the 8mm, is .315 inch, the .32-40 is .319, the .35 Winchester, model 1895, has a diameter of .358 inch and the 9mm is .354 inch in diameter. As will be seen the .32-40 and the 8mm are nearly the same, and the .35 Winchester and 9mm are practically the same caliber.
