Deer – Mule and Blacktail – What is the difference between the mule deer and the blacktail deer? They all look alike tome, but one of my friends claims they are different.

The deer which is known by these two names throughout the Rocky Mountains is the same animal, and its true name is the Mule Deer. There is really a blacktail deer, but it is a small species, found only on the Pacific coast from Central California to British Columbia. It is known as the Columbian Blacktail.
