For muskrats try beaver castor and bait with apple, parsnip, or pumpkin, just a small piece placed where it can be seen easily from the water. Use a small piece of dry beaver castor in the end of a split stick, or if you cannot get this easily get Burbank’s extract of beaver castor, which is a fluid extract and answers as well. Use a little piece of cloth rolled into a wad, saturated with the scent, and placed in the end of the split stick. Beaver castor is the best all-around scent I know of and attracts nearly all animals to a certain extent, some more than others.
