DEER AND FUR—WISCONSIN VS. MINNESOTA | |

DEER AND FUR—WISCONSIN VS. MINNESOTA—Which is best for deer hunting and for trapping furbearers—Northern Wisconsin or Northern Minnesota?
There is little if any difference. Neither of these districts are good for trapping, as mink are the principal fur producers and they quit running early in the season. In the winter about the only animals that travel much are wolves, and I have never yet found anybody who was very successful at trapping wolves in the snow. Of course there are other furbearers, but they are not abundant. Deer are plentiful in both states, and in Minnesota there are also moose and in some parts I believe there are a few caribou.
