Dachshund-Perhaps-I won a dog which was bought for a German Beagle, but some people claim that it is a Dachshund. It stands a little over a foot high, is an orange color, has a 20 ½ inch earage and is good on rabbits. Will you please tell the differences between these two breeds of dogs?
I think from your description the dog is a Dachshund. This dog is usually a fawn color or brown, but the original Dachshund was black and tan, and spotted ones are found sometimes. The hair is short and glossy. The legs very short and the body long. The beagle is well proportioned and is much like the foxhound in build but is much smaller. They are usually spotted.
