DAVENPORT 10 GAUGE— Can you tell me something about the Davenport 10 gauge?

I will give my experience with a 10-gauge Davenport with 36-inch barrel. I have killed partridges at 10 rods with it, but I used a heavy load—4 drams F. F. G. powder and 1 1/2 ounces of No. 6 shot. Father killed a deer with it at 75 yards. If you hold on a deer, with it, at 12 rods, you are pretty sure to score. but it all depends on what kind of ammunition you use. Now, my favorite brands are U. M. C. New Club or P. C. C. League, fine or buckshot. I don’t wish for a better gun.
