Cutlass Fish
Cutlass-Fish (Sabre-Fish, Scabbard-Fish, Hair-Tail, Thread-Fish, Silver Eel, etc.): Caught on heavy tackle in the tropical Atlantic, on the coast of Brazil, in the Gulf of California, the West Indies, the Gulf of Mexico, and north to Wood's Hole, Mass. Is abundant in the St. John's River, Florida, in the Indian River region, and in the Gulf of Mexico. Reaches a length of five feet. Often throws itself into the fisherman's boat.
