CURB (of a bridle). A chain attached on the upper extremities of the branches of the bridle, and passing exactly over the horse's beard. It consists of, 1st, the hook, fastened to the eye of the branch; 2nd, the chain of S S or links ; 3rd, the two rings or mails.
