I know of only method and it is as follows: Begin by firing very light charges near the dog and especially when his food has been placed for him; keep this up daily, until the dog is no longer afraid, when heavier charges may be used. It is not very difficult to break a young dog of gun shyness, but it may take some time to cure an older dog.
