CUTTING DOWN BARREL— I would like to know something about the shooting qualities of the .41 caliber, Swiss army rifle. The gun has a 32-inch barrel, Could it be cut down to carbine length without impairing the shooting?
It will not impair the shooting qualities of the gun to shorten the barrel if the work is carefully done by the gunsmith, and the muzzle is left in perfect shape. The only difference will be the fact that the sights will be closer together and one cannot do as accurate aiming, but for general use you would not notice any difference.
