Cross Fox-Description Of- Please give a description of the cross fox. I caught a fox a year ago which was jet black except for a few white hairs on its back and quite a number in its face. What kind was it?
The cross fox comes between the red and the silver gray and the change from one to the other is so gradual that there is no particular place to draw the line. A typical cross fox is black on the under parts and the legs, gray body and head with black on the back and shoulders and black tail with a white tip. There is a reddish patch behind each foreleg and one on each side of the neck.
