Crows-Can crows, the common black bird, be kept in captivity?
Yes, you can keep crows in captivity. A cage 4x4x6 feet, placed lengthwise would be large enough for them. I kept two in a cage 3x3x4.5 feet, and they did very well. Feed them just as you would a chicken-corn, table scraps, raw fish, meat, etc., and be sure they get plenty of grit.
A reader answers as follows; Crows will do well in a cage and do not require a very large place. A cage 5 feet high, 5 feet wide, and 10 feet long is plenty large for four. It should have a roost and the birds should have plenty of water to wash in. For food they will at almost anything; scraps of meat, fish, etc. They relish bread soaked in milk. I have kept four crows in a small cage 3x4x4 feet and they did well. They will become tame and stay around the buildings if fed.
