COMPARISON OF GUNS—How do the following gusts com pare for shooting purposes, for accuracy: Mauser 8 mm.; Winchester box magazine .30 caliber U. S. Army; and Remington .30 caliber auto loading? Which of these would you recommend for hunting deer where the range is usually from 300 to 800 yards?

These are types of questions which no one can answer satisfactorily for another hunter. Each weapon has its advocates. I doubt, however, if there is much deer country where the shooting is over 200 or 400 yards. At the ranges you mention, most deer hunting is “shoot-ating,” and not deer shooting.
