COST OF 20 GAUGE SHELLS—Why is it that the 20 gauge shot gun shells cost so much more money than the 12 gauge shells? Is it the manufacturer or the retailer?
Probably both; the reason is that the 12 gauge shells are manufactured in such large quantities that a small margin of profit need be taken. The 20 gauge shell, which is just now beginning to come into deserved popularity, is made lo such comparatively small quantities that a profit cannot he made except, by charging a higher price. I think, however, that the 20 gauge shells will grow less expensive as their use becomes more frequent.
