Coyote hunting calls come in 3 general styles, electronic, mouth and squeaker, all have their uses and should be in your coyote hunting gear.

The first coyote hunting call is the electronic, this is by far the most popular call used in coyote hunting, and there are many different electric calls available. Battery operated the electric coyote call allows the hunter to keep both hands free while calling, they are louder than most of the mouth calls and allow for easy changing of volume and call. Electronic coyote calls are heavier and bulkier than the mouth or squeaker calls, but are indispensable in there ease of use and volume control.

The second type of coyote call is the mouth call, this is familiar to most hunters as they are the same style call as those used by deer hunters and duck/goose hunters. The mouth call is ideal for the coyote hunter who likes to move around during hunting, as they are relatively small yet are loud enough to bring coyotes in from a distance. The mouth coyote call does take some time to master.

The last type of coyote call is the squeaker, the squeaker is small and operated by one hand, generally the squeaker call is made of rubber and is either compressed by the free hand or is bounced off the leg. The squeaker is a close in call as it is relatively quiet and is designed to sound like a small rodent or mouse.

By using and mastering the many coyote hunting calls available, you stand a much better chance of bringing the cautious coyote within gun range.
