CHOKE BORING—Will a shotgun that is choke bored near the muzzle shoot as hard and close as any that is choke bored right from the breech?
I think that the only gun makers who claim that their guns taper choke from the breech are the Le-fever Arms Co., and that if they are so bored, that they are the only ones who have been able to make a good shooting gun by that method. Most guns are cylinder bored to within six inches or less of the muzzle. A single gun will shoot as well as a double one if the boring is the same in each and if there is little difference in weight. I can see no reason why the double gun should shoot any better.
