Championship Contests
Once a year your club should hold a championship contest in which the twelve highest winners of the weekly handicaps compete and the public should be invited to attend these meets.
There are two ways to provide for the medals, watch-fobs, stick-pins or whatever the prizes are to be. The first is to make the members pay an entrance fee of $1.50 to cover the cost of one gold, one silver, and two or three bronze trophies. The second way is to have the merchants of your town donate the prizes, but never ask for donations of any kind unless the funds of the treasury are very low.
