Canvas Canoes-I would like to know if the folding canvas canoes can be portaged the same as ordinary canoes, without folding up, and if they are as steady in the water as a wood frame boat. I would like to hear from those who have had experience with these canoes in the northern United States and Canada.

My experience with the folding canvas canoes is limited as I have only tried one and I cannot give the make of that one. It was a large one, very steady, but was as hard to paddle as a raft. This was because there was no lining and the canvas sagged between the ribs. It could be portaged the same as a solid canoe.
