Bullet pull is the force by which the bullet is held in the case. The harder the bullet pull, the more force is required to start the bullet moving down the barrel of the firearm. A high bullet pull is required to help assure proper ignition of the powder charge and also is necessary to help ensure the bullet does not shift in the case during recoil.
Bullet pull is often refered to as case neck tension.
