| | Bore sighting is the process of aligning a firearms sights with the bore of the firearm. There are specially designed bore sights that can be purchased, but you can do a simple bore sighting without any aiding device. In order to bore sight a rifle yourself you must be able to look through the barrel from action to muzzle, simple rest the rifle so that you can see a target through the bore and then adjust the sights so they are on. Finish by firing rounds and making the fine adjustments. Bore sighting will usually get you on paper, but it is not a substitute to actually spending time on the range.
