Blue Heron-Please describe the Blue Heron.
This bird is the largest of the herons (sometimes called cranes though not a crane), standing over three feet high. It has slender plumes on its head, breast and back. The color is a slaty-blue; white in under, streaked with black. It has rather long legs, a long pointed bill, and a very short tail. It is found occasionally, all over the well wooded and well watered parts of North America. There is also the Little Blue Heron, found in Florida, and in summer it wanders northward to the Central and Eastern states. It measures only about two feet in length, while the Great Blue Heron measures nearly four.
