Belgian Hares in Confinement
Belgian Hares in Confinement-Concerning Belgian hares will say that they can be raised very easily in confinement. One male would serve about eight or ten females, and they will breed every four weeks, but they should not be bred so fast because it is too hard on them and keeps them thin. They mostly get from six to nine in a litter and some only get a few while some get as many as fourteen. Some people keep them thin. Some people keep their hares in store boxes but they do better if they are on the ground. Young hares grow faster if the pen is not too small; say 10 x 20 feet for about 25 hares. The pen should always be kept clean.
