Bear and Panther-Will you please tell me what is the best breed of a dog to train for bear and panther?

Dogs for this class of game should be of the foxhound and bloodhound breeds, Airedales added will be an improvement of the pack. While the latter is not so good at trailing as the former two breeds, he makes a good fighter. A cross of foxhound with bloodhound makes an ideal dog for this sport, and when Airedales are added to pack, consisting of, say, six of the hounds and three Airedales, a splendid combination will be had.

To my notion the Airedales can’t be beat for bears and lions. I have also used a cross between the Airedale and shepherd, which is just as good. I don’t like a hound for bears; they make too much noise and are too slow and awkward. They get in the way of a bear when baying him.
