| | Barrel Relining has fallen from favor in recent years, but is the process of drilling or reaming out of a shot out rifle barrel and inserting a new liner chambered for the same or larger caliber than the original chambering. Once quite common, with the recent cost decreases of production rifle barrels due to mechanized barrel production and the increase in gunsmith hourly costs, barrel relining is mostly a thing of the past.
