Anise Oil-For what animals can anise oil be used as a decoy, and how much should be used?
Oil of anise is used for many animals but I doubt whether it attracts any of them with the exception of the bear and raccoon. For these you can mix a little of it with some fish oil (decayed fish), say a half ounce of oil of anise to a pint of the fish oil, and you will have a pretty good scent. Use just a few drops, about a half dozen for a coon set, and about a teaspoonful for a bear set, for the latter must attract farther. Or you can use the oil of anise alone, a couple of drops for a bear set, and for a coon set a little dead stick dipped into it is all that is needed.
