| | Air resistance is one of the 2 forces that affect the flight of a bullet, the second being gravity. While gravity pulls the bullet down toward the earth, resulting in the arched flight we all calculate when sighting in, air resistance is the force that actually slows the bullet down. The blunt nose bullet of the 30/30 Winchester is affected much more readily due to its flat point than say that of the 30/06 with a boat tail spitzer bullet.
