ACCURACY OF RELOADED RIFLE SHELLS—Will rifle shells that have been reloaded a number of times do as accurate shooting as new ones? I use the Winchester reloading tool, Model ‘94.
No, the repeated reloading of the shell cannot affect the accuracy, but it is almost impossible to get really good results from hand-loaded rifle shells, that is for the amateur, with a light reloading outfit. The only trouble with reloaded shells, aside from inaccuracy, as explained, is that the shells are likely to break in time and when using them you should always have a broken shell extractor with you.
