8 GAUGE—How does the 8—gauge compare with the 10 gauge for range? Would like to knew more about the 8-gauge.
The 8-gauge is simply a heavier gun, carries mere shot—two ounces; or thereabouts—and may shoot five or six yards further. It costs more to shoot, is heavier to carry. You seem to think that the big guns would get you more game; don’t you believe it! If you want to be the real thing in geese hunting, get a .25-20 or .25-35 repeater or Winchester Rim Fire .22 and get them as they squat, run or fly.
