I do not think you could get a new Remington rifle of that caliber, as that model of rifle is no longer made, and the .50-70 caliber was only made to order. It is possible that you might still find some firm who have the .40-70 or the 45-90 in stock. The single shot hunting rifle of this caliber was formerly retailed at about $11.50.
