.41 Colts-Is the Colt’s .41 caliber revolver a good practical arm? How does it compare to the .44 or .45?

I really know little about the .41 caliber Colt. The Winchester ballistics of the .41 Long follow; Muzzle velocity, 795 fps; muzzle energy, 224 pounds; penetration 2 boards. The penetration is light probably because of the blunt nose expanding bullet used. The revolver itself is of course, a good one and the caliber is probably very good for a weapon of defense, but it certainly is far inferior to the .44-40 or .45 Colt calibers for hunters and trappers.
