3 IN ONE GUN OIL—Which of these fabrics is beat to use for cleaning guns—cotton, woolen, silk or linen? Is skunk oil good to use for cleaning rifles and guns?

I have never experimented, but use white cotton cloth, as it is soft and gets into the grooves well. Neither have I ever used skunk oil, or other animal oils for cleaning, as well as I can remember, but I use some good gun oil, such as “3 in 1,” and when it is used no rust preventive is needed, unless the gun is to be set away for some time, when one of the heavy gun greases should be used. There are several other oils as good as “3 in 1” for this purpose, but they are not carried generally in out-of-the-way places, and “3-in-1” can he bought almost anywhere.
