.33 CALIBER WINCHESTER—Would a .33 caliber Winchester be all right for hunting moose, deer and bears, and would it be good for use on the plains?
The .33 Winchester is a good gun for all American big game and is good on the plains, in the mountains or in the heavy timber. As to the .33 caliber cartridge, will say I have an 1880 Model Winchester .33 caliber and have killed a number of deer with it. I shot a large buck at 400 yards and the soft point bullet went clear through, breaking its neck. The .33 cartridge has great knock-down power and long range.
