.32 S. & W. AND .30.30—Will it damage the .30-30 to shoot the .32 S. & W. cartridge with a supplemental chamber?
There is likely to be trouble from leading if they are used much, although of course this does not harm the gun itself, if it is cleared out before the regular cartridges are used. But lead is difficult to remove from a rifle barrel. The Supplemental Chamber is more likely to cause leading, to my notion, than the Brayton Auxiliary Shell, as with the former the bullet must travel some distance before it strikes the rifling and in the latter is seated in the forward end of the chamber so that it takes the rifling immediately. If you use one, I would advise using the smokeless cartridges.
