.32-40 H. P. FOR MOOSE—Is a .32-40 big enough for moose and black bears?
The .32 -40 High Power is all right for this game, which is usually killed at short range. This is providing you are going into the woods for a winter or more and do not want to kill every big game animal you see, but only when the game is within reasonable range. If you are going on a short hunt for moose and bears, then I advise you to take a more powerful rifle than the .32-40. I could always answer such questions more fully if I knew the conditions under which the arm will be used, your own experience with firearms, etc.
