.25-20 High Velocity-Is the .25-20 Marlin ’94 repeater load the high velocity powder stronger than a ’92 Marlin, .32 Long Rifle, High Velocity? How do they compare in black powder?
The .25-20 High Velocity is far ahead of any cartridge used in the Model 1892 Marlin, as fat as power is concerned. The Marlin people call the center fire .32 caliber cartridge with inside lubrication the “.32 Long Rifle, inside lubrication,” but the cartridge makers do not. It may have been so known at one time but it is now the “.32 Long Colt,” or “.32 Colt, interior lubrication” depending on whose make it is. The U.M.C. people load this cartridge with smokeless powder, but it is not a high velocity cartridge. When loaded with black powder it si not as powerful or as long range as the .25-20, black.
