.25 OR .30-30 AUTOLOADING—Which is the best rifle to take on a hunting trip—a .25 caliber or a .30-30, both Remington Auto loading? Do they have much recoil?

There is not very much difference between the two, and if you are not hunting larger game than deer and black bears, I wouldn’t give a cent for the difference, hut if you want to hunt larger game the .30-30 is the best of the two mentioned and the, .35 is better than either. The recoil of the .30 is only about seven foot pounds, which is not worth considering. The only American cartridges giving a recoil worth mentioning are the .35 Winchester, the .405, and the .45 and .50 caliber high velocity cartridges.
