.22 Long and Extra Long-Please tell me what difference there is in the .22 long and .22 extra long cartridges. Which is most powerful?

The difference is in the length of the shell, weight, of bullet and powder charge. The .22 long is loaded with 5 grains of powder and a 35 grain bullet. The .22 extra long contains 7 grains of powder and a 40 grain bullet. Of course the latter is the most powerful, but I do not know of any rifle now made to use this cartridge.
