Also that the magazine holds 15 short, 12 long, or 11 long-rifle cartridges. I do not mean any repeater. If there is one, will you tell me the name of the firm that sells it? Are all repeating rifles equipped with a safety? Do you believe they are perfectly safe? What is the usual length of a .22 caliber rifles? Also of a single barrel shotgun.

No; it is much more important that the person using a firearm be “perfectly safe” than that the rifle have a safety catch. Get the rifle you like, but don’t trust to the safety to prevent accidents. It is of the utmost importance that every care be exercised in handling firearms, catch or no catch. Of course, the safety is a good thing, and does its share. From 18 to 24 inches. Shooting gallery ,22s are often 30-inch barrels. Single barrel shotguns range from 20 to 32 inches. Personal preference is the best to go by in any matter.
